from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Mönchspiele nature reserve with a size of 12.68  hectares is located northwest of Alme in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan . In the east it borders the Almetal nature reserve .

Area description

The NSG is the middle and lower reaches of two nameless sieves , which finally unite. Some of the sieves are located in a red alder quarry or at least have an alder border on the stream. The NSG is surrounded by a large red spruce forest .

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the Siepen and the forest there are to be protected. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
