Rammelsbachtal nature reserve

The nature reserve Rammelsbachtal with a size of 16.58  hectares is located northwest of Alme in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is the source area of ​​the Rammelsbach , a western tributary of the Alme (Lippe) , with part of the stream and the Roterlenbruch in this area. In the Erlenbruch there are areas with peat moss and lush lichen growth . There are also red spruce stocks in the NSG .

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the Rammelsbach and the forest there are to be protected. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
