Fosshohl nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fosshohl nature reserve with a size of 2.1 hectares is located southeast of Messinghausen in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG is a wet grassland area with two sources. The source of the Kümecke stream also belongs to the NSG . Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the grassland with its species inventory. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
