The Hilbringse nature reserve with a size of 24.36 hectares is located southwest of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . To the east, separated by a path, borders the Gimmental nature reserve .

Area description

The NSG is a part of the Hilbringsetal . In addition to the stream, the grassland areas in the valley area belong to the NSG. Parts of the NSG were also planted with red spruce .

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the grassland areas are to be protected. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
