Heidfeldsiepen nature reserve

The Heidfeldsiepen nature reserve with a size of 2.7 hectares is located southwest of Messinghausen in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan .

Area description

The NSG area is occupied by grassland and fallow land. Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG. It breeds and a. the red backed .

Protection purpose

The NSG is intended to protect the grassland and fallow land with their inventory of species. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
