Area description

The NSG is a dwarf shrub heather . Small areas of bristle grass are interspersed. The northern edge and the eastern third of the area are in a pre-forest stage with many trees. Most of the area is grazed with sheep.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
