Nettetal nature reserve

The Nettetal nature reserve is located north of Alme in the urban area of Brilon in the Hochsauerland district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The 38.96 ha large nature reserve has the key number HSK-486 and stands since 2008 under nature protection . The eastern border of the NSG is also the border to the Paderborn district . The nature reserve Leiberger Wald borders directly in the Paderborn district . The L 637 borders directly in the northwest and the Almetal nature reserve is located behind the country road . In the HSK, the landscape protection area Obermöhne- / Almewald and Almer Quellgrund border in the south-west and the landscape protection area Hallinghausen in the south-east . The NSG borders the B 480 to the east. Behind the B 480 lies the Lühlingsbachtal nature reserve and the open spaces in the Lühlingsbachtal nature reserve .

The Nettetal nature reserve is part of the FFH area Leiberger Wald (No. DE-4517-303) with an area of 1,864 hectares. The FFH area is part of the European Natura 2000 network of protected areas and is mainly located in the Paderborn district .

Area description

In the NSG there is grassland and the Nette stream . In the grassland there is wet and wet grassland, as well as spring swamps. There are also smaller alder quarries and alder forests that accompany the stream.

Protection purpose

The reason for protection is the preservation and optimization of an important composite piece in the coherent, supraregional important grassland valley system of Lülingsbach, Nette and Alme with extensive, species-rich habitats of wet and wet grassland, spring swamps, alder forests and creek-accompanying alder forests, thus also protecting the birds that occur here -, insect and plant species, many of which are endangered nationwide.
