Place name
As far as is known so far, the name of the village Aspertshofen appears for the first time in the Bavarian Salbuch from 1275. At that time under the name "Oprechtshouen". The name should indicate that there was initially an Osbrecht or Ochsbrecht farm here, who later gave the village its name. In the Salbuch of the Propstei Hersbruck from 1300 the place name is called "Achtsprechtshofen". Research assumes that the places with the name endings -hof or -hofen are older than the places with the name endings -dorf or -feld. It can therefore be assumed that the first settlement in the village dates back to the 7th-8th centuries. Century. (Author: Hans Engelhardt)
