from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Böde Bruch and Rehhacken with a size of 1.65  hectares is located northwest of Rixen in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan . The NSG consists of two areas. The western part of the area goes up to the city limits of Olsberg .

Area description

The NSG consists of two wet forest areas. The western part of the Böde Bruch area borders directly on the Böde Bruch nature reserve in the city of Olsberg. There is a bog forest with bog birch and red spruce . The eastern part of the Rehhacken area is a red alder quarry in a transitional moor . Spruce and beech trees stand on the edge of the alder . On the eastern edge there are two half-open rush swamps.

Protection purpose

In the NSG, the two wet forest areas with their species inventory are to be protected. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
