No teeth in the mouth but whistle La Paloma was a post-punk band from Kiel .

history

Jochen Gäde and Lars Stuhlmacher grew up in Dithmarschen and got to know each other there. Gäde played 1000 cartridges in the band . In 1994 Gäde and Stuhlmacher moved to Kiel. Gäde drifted into the hit beat scene and played drums in the beat band Disco Maxim . He also ran the Döner discotheque label . In the meantime, Stuhlmacher got to know Steffen Frahm and made music with him in the band Transporter . After Disco Maxim separated and Gäde gave up the label, he recorded new songs on a multi-track recorder with Stuhlmacher . When Frahm found out about the project, he wrote a letter to Gäde that he would like to be part of this band. In a kebab shop, a decision was made against the name "Textiles Werken" and for "No teeth in your mouth but whistle La Paloma". Gäde had already picked up on the saying from his father in his childhood, but also refers in the Ox-Fanzine to the film Nobody is the greatest , in which there is the quote "No tooth in the mouth, but whistle in the church La Paloma". In an interview with the music magazine Intro , Stuhlmacher said about the name: “We are also part of the staging society. For me, the name reflects self-irony. No hair on the sack, but smoking. So we are three. But at least we have the competence to reflect on our everyday pretentious behavior . "In the Radio-Eins portrait, Gäde added that he found the name appropriate because, in addition to self-irony (" knock on the flour and have no idea of boobs and bubbles have ”) would also depict the northern German character (“ La Paloma ”).

On September 28, 2017, No Teeth in the Mouth, but La Paloma whistled, announced their dissolution.

style

The band itself basically describes their style as punk . Knarf Rellöm describes the style as "Northern Punk". Oli Krahe, whose sidekick guest is now and then with the event tips in Schleswig-Holstein Magazin , describes the music as "Old Wave Punk".
