Keiyo District was a district in the Kenyan Rift Valley Province . In 1999 the population was 143,865. The capital of the district was Iten / Tambach .
The district was formed in 1994 from the split of the Elegeyo Marakwet District in 1927 into Keiyo and Marakwet District . As part of the 2010 constitution , the Kenyan districts were dissolved. The area is now part of Elgeyo-Marakwet County .
