Kemerhisar is a municipality in the district of Bor the Turkish province of Nigde . In 2011 the place had 5348 inhabitants.

Kemerhisar is about 8 kilometers south of Bor and 20 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Niğde . It is located in the Bor Ovası plateau on the eastern edge of the Ereğli Ovası , west of the D-805 highway from Niğde to Ulukışla .

Attractions

Kemerhisar is on the site of the ancient city of Tyana , which in turn takes the place of the Hittite Tuwanuwa and the late Luwian Tuwana . Among other things, an impressive aqueduct has been preserved from Tyana . To the east of the place near Bahçeli is the archaeological site of Köşk Höyük , a settlement mound that has been inhabited since the Neolithic . The stele of Bor from the 8th century BC was found in Kemerhisar . BC, which shows the late Luwian ruler Warpalawas .
