Kenneth Garrison
Kenneth "Ken" Garrison (* 1948 in Louisiana , USA ) is an American opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Garrison worked as a clarinetist for 13 years and then began to study singing in Louisiana , Texas , but later moved to Santa Barbara (California) and then to the Mozarteum University in Salzburg . Finally he took private lessons with Hans Hopf in Munich.
From there he was engaged to Regensburg, Oldenburg, Karlsruhe , the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich .
In 1987 he alternated with René Kollo to interpret the Kaiser in Richard Strauss ' Die Frau ohne Schatten at Cheryl Studer's side as Empress.
In 1990/1991, the focus was on debuts at La Scala in Milan and the Vienna State Opera .
As a member of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Garrison went on a tour of Japan in autumn 1992. Here he shone as Erik from the Flying Dutchman and Kaiser from the woman without a shadow .
