Kenta Takagi ( Japanese 髙 木 健 太 , Takagi Kenta ; born December 14, 1993 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with Nippon Paper Cranes from the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2012 .

Career

Kenta Takagi began playing ice hockey at Komazawa Tomakomai, where he played in the Japan Ice Hockey League at the age of 16 . Since 2012 he has been playing with the Nippon Paper Cranes in the Asia League Ice Hockey , which he won with his team in 2014. He himself was voted the most valuable player in the playoffs.

International

For Japan, Takagi initially took part in the 2010 U18 World Cup in Division I in the junior division. He then played with the Japanese juniors at the U20 World Cup in 2013 in Division II.

He played for the Japanese men's team for the first time at the 2013 World Cup in Division I, where he was also on the ice in 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . He also represented his colors at the Winter Asian Games 2017 , when he and his team won the bronze medal behind Kazakhstan and South Korea and at the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
