He has been with the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL) since 2019 .

college

Drake grew up in Powder Springs , 22 miles north of Atlanta , and went to Hillgrove High School there . He then played college football from 2012 to 2015 . He attended the University of Alabama , where he played for Alabama Crimson Tide in the NCAA Division I FBS.

In total, Drake had 1,495 yards in 233 runs in four seasons and scored a total of 22 touchdowns . With Alabama, he won the College Football Playoff National Championship 45:40 against the Clemson Tigers in his final season , with Drake scoring a touchdown with a 95-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter.

NFL

Drake was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft as the 73rd player and third running back by the Miami Dolphins .

After getting little playing time on his season debut against the Seattle Seahawks , he scored his first touchdown in the NFL on his second appearance against the New England Patriots . In Week 9, he hit the New York Jets with a 96-yard kickoff-return touchdown that led the Dolphins to a 27:23 win.

Drake went as the third running back the Dolphins behind Jay Ajayi and Damien Williams in the season 2017 . After Ajayi moved to the Philadelphia Eagles during the season and Williams injured himself, Drake was the new starter of the Dolphins from week 12.

In the 2018 season, Drake scored the game- winning touchdown in the last play at the so-called Miracle in Miami , through which the Dolphins were able to beat the New England Patriots with 34-33: Seven seconds before the end, Miami was on its own 31-yard line. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw a pass for 14 yards of space to wide receiver Kenny Stills . The ball got to Drake via two lateral passes , who ran the remaining 55 yards into the end zone for a touchdown.

After the 8th day of the 2019 season , he was exchanged for a five-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals . In the Cardinals' win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 15, Drake gained 137 yards in 22 runs and had four touchdowns.
