Ryan Tannehill Timothy III (* 27. July 1988 in Lubbock , Texas ) is an American American football poker players at the position of quarterback . He plays for the Tennessee Titans in the National Football League (NFL). He previously played with the Miami Dolphins , of which he was selected as the eighth player in the 2012 NFL Draft .
Career
High school and college
Tannehill attended Big Spring High School, where he practiced football , basketball, and athletics . In his sophomore season, he first played as a defensive back before moving to the position of quarterback. As a senior, he led his team into the play-offs with passes over 5,258 yards and 617 yards . He was also active as a punter and had an average of 39.2 yards.
Tannehill went to Texas A&M University and initially suspended the 2007 season. In 2008 he could not prevail on the quarterback position against the more experienced Stephen McGee and Jerrod Johnson and ran as wide receiver . He broke freshman school records for passes and yards trapped and ended the season with 844 yards of space. In 2009, Jerrod Johnson was the starting quarterback, and Tannehill caught passes for 609 yards and 4 touchdowns. Over the course of the 2010 season, he received increasing quarterback time, and he set a school record in his first game from the start with 449 yards thrown. As a senior, he started in 13 games and passed for 3,744 yards and 29 touchdowns on 15 interceptions.

Miami Dolphins
In the 2012 NFL Draft , he was traded as the third best quarterback behind Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III . The Miami Dolphins selected him as the eighth player, making him the first quarterback since Dan Marino in 1983, whom the Dolphins drafted in the first round. On 28 July 2012, he signed his rookie contract for four years and 12.684 million US dollars .
In the preseason Tannehill was named starting quarterback. In the first game of the season against the Houston Texans , he threw no touchdowns, but three interceptions. As the season progressed, he stabilized and set several rookie records for Miami. He was the fifth quarterback in Dolphins history to throw for more than 3,000 yards in one season.
Statistically, 2014 was his best year. He achieved personal bests in yards thrown, touchdowns thrown, attempts to pass, completed passes, quarterback rating and yards run. He also threw fewer interceptions than ever before.
Prior to the 2015 season, he signed a new six-year contract worth $ 95 million.
After injuring himself across seasons in 2017, the Dolphins brought Jay Cutler back from retirement on a 1-year contract.
Tennessee Titans
On March 15, 2019, the Dolphins swapped Tannehill along with a six- round pick for the 2019 NFL Draft for the Tennessee Titans, who in return gave the Dolphins a fourth-round pick for the 2020 NFL Draft and a seventh-round pick for the 2019 draft. The Titans gave Tannehill a $ 7 million one-year deal.
In the Titans, Tannehill was initially the backup for Marcus Mariota , who, however, was transferred to the bench after the sixth game day because of poor performance. Tannehill won his first two games as the Titans starting quarterback. He completed over 70% of his passes and threw five touchdowns on an interception. After the Titans started the season with two wins and four losses, Tannehill led the Titans with seven wins from the remaining ten games in the play-offs. He threw 22 touchdown passes at 6 interceptions in the regular season and recorded the best value in the league with a quarterback rating of 117.5. In the playoff phase, the Titans beat the favored New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens with Tannehill. In the AFC Championship Game, the Titans were then defeated by the Chiefs. By the Super Bowl participation of the Chiefs Tannehill was nominated as a replacement for Patrick Mahomes for the Pro Bowl .
On March 15, 2020, the Titans and Tannehill signed a $ 118 million contract over four years with a $ 62 million guarantee.
