Keyza Soze

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Keyza Soze [ kɛi̯za sosə ] (also Kaizer or Verbal Kint ) is from Berlin-Neukölln -derived music producer , DJ and composer . The name is borrowed from the film production The usual suspects .

Musical career

Keyza Soze's musical career began in 1996 as a DJ . He made a name for himself in his neighborhood with self-made mix tapes and appearances at parties. In 1998 he founded the group New Cologne Squad and in the following year began to compose independent pieces. In an interview he claims that he cannot read any notes.

In 2001 I made my first contact with the Berlin rap scene. The first productions World War No.3 and Pee Ohh were made with MOR member Jack Orsen and Prinz Pi . Jack Orsen introduced Keyza Soze to the rapper Taktloss a little later , with whom he made music continuously from then on.

In 2004 Taktloss' solo album BRP56 was released on which Soze produced four tracks. Three of them were singles with music videos. In the same year he began to work on productions for the American Ellay Khule aka Rifleman coming from Project Blowed , Los Angeles . In 2005, the New York- based music label Decon Records released its first single Who's Killing Hip Hop? from the album Califormula . He founded his own music label Truekings Entertainment and released the instrumental albums Hustlinstrumentals Vol.1 and Vol.2 .

In May 2006 it was released for the first time on vinyl . In cooperation with the Berlin record store HHV, a record limited to 500 copies was created with the title World Wide Connectid . The record contained the songs Agitated by Houston , Texas rapper K-Rino and a collaboration between Taktloss and Rifleman called Do It . He achieved chart success with productions for the rapper Massiv and his debut album Blut gegen Blut .

The first album WWW - World Wide Werds / Welt Weite Worts by Taktloss And The Rifleman was released in February 2007. It was released in Germany and the USA and includes guest appearances by Aceyalone , Abstract Rude , Hi-Tekk from La Caution and Miss Platnum .

In April 2007, the album Book No. 7 by K-Rino was released in the USA , on which Soze produced a part.

In September 2007 Keyza Soze released a producer album called The Composer . This album only contains solo songs by the Berlin rappers Prinz Pi, Taktloss, Mach One , Vork, Massiv, Meyah Don , Gris, Justus , Bobafettt, Big Derill Mack , Amewu and Jack Orsen.

He had produced several songs on K-Rino's 2008 album trilogy Triple Darkness . In the same year he was in Houston for some time and produced some recordings for the 2009 K-Rino album Solitary Confinement .

In December 2009 the album Mit Herz und Seele by rapper Meyah Don was released, which Keyza Soze produced in full.

Verbal kint

Under the name Verbal Kint [vörbl kint] , Keyza Soze released several mix tapes and mix CDs as a DJ. On these releases, various American songs were combined into a DJ mix. The most famous mixtape was a cassette edition limited to 100 copies entitled The Best Of Devin The Dude in 2004. This tape pays homage to the Houston, Texas rapper and is sometimes also hosted by himself. Joint mix tapes with the alter ego of Taktloss DJ Ugly Cut are also known . Almost all mix tapes still contain exclusive songs that were produced by Keyza Soze.

Musical style

Keyza Soze completely dispenses with sampling in his arrangements and plays all the instruments himself. The style is known to be very varied and melodic. Ellay Khule once called him a " West Coast gangster" . However, this refutes above all more recent productions such as on his album The Composer . Mostly orchestral instruments are used there, giving the music a serious and dramatic note.
