Kfar Gilʿadi ( Hebrew כְּפַר גִּלְעָדִי Kfar Gilʿadī ) is a kibbutz in Israel in the Upper Galilee region , south of Metulla , on the border with Lebanon . The kibbutz had 676 inhabitants in 2018.

history

The kibbutz was founded on October 21, 1916 by members of the HaSchomers on land owned by the Jewish Colonization Association . After the Arab attack on Tel Chai on March 1, 1920, the kibbutz was temporarily abandoned, but the settlers returned on October 3, 1920.

On 6 August 2006, during the Lebanon war in 2006 , twelve were reservists of the Israeli army killed after one of Hezbollah from southern Lebanon fired Katyusha rocket had hit. Fifteen more were wounded, two of them so badly that they had to be taken to Haifa by MedEvac .
