history

The village emerged from a manor that was formerly an old fief of the Suckow family and was sold by them around the middle of the 18th century. Around 1780 there was an arable farm in Kitzerow, the Augustenhof farm on the Feldmark by Lake Patsch , with an inn, a large farmer whose land was twice as large as that of an ordinary full farmer , six full farmers, a sexton, a preacher and a schoolmaster , a forge and a total of 20 households. After it later had other owners and went bankrupt, the property was sold in 1789 for 10,600 thalers to the war and domain councilor Georg Wilhelm von Hill. After further changes of ownership, it was acquired by the District Councilor Karl Rudolf Mätzke around 1832, who owned it until 1852 and, with the help of a chief inspector and an estate manager, and thanks to double bookkeeping, developed it into a prosperous and exemplary estate. At that time the estate, including the Vorwerk, was over 2,723 acres , of which 2,115 acres were arable land and 245 acres were meadows. After further changes of ownership, the estate was acquired in 1862 for 285,000 thalers by the Szczecin merchant Scalla, who transferred it to his son.

By 1930 the Kitzerow community had an area of 7.5 km². There were a total of 30 residential buildings within the boundaries of the village and there were two residential areas:

  1. Augustenhof
  2. Kitzerow

In 1925 230 inhabitants were counted, which were distributed over 50 households.

Until 1945 Kitzerow belonged to the district of Saatzig in the province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , Kitzerow was occupied by the Soviet Army in early March 1945 . After the end of the war, the village was placed under Polish administration. Kitzerow was renamed Kiczarowo .

religion

A large majority of the villagers present in Kitzerow before 1945 belonged to the Protestant denomination. In 1925, 23 Catholics were counted in Kitzerow.
