Kierlikówka (formerly also Kierkówka , locally K'erkófka ) is a village with a Schulzenamt of the Trzciana municipality in the Powiat Bocheński of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

The place is located in Pogórze Wiśnickie . The neighboring towns are Kamionna in the south, Rdzawa and Ujazd in the west, Trzciana in the north, and Łąkta Dolna , Łąkta Górna and Bełdno in the east.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1395 as Kerlicowca , when it belonged to Wilhelm von Podgaje. Later it was mentioned as Kelichowka (1402), Kyerlicowca (1437), Gerlicowca (1440), Kyerlichowka (1463). The possessive name is derived either from the personal name * Kierlik (German Kerl- / Karl- + -ik) or from the appellative kierła (guy, tramp ).

Politically, the place was initially part of the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Krakow Voivodeship , Szczyrzyc District. When Poland was first partitioned , Kierlikówka became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Kierlikówka came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .

From 1975 to 1998 Kierlikówka belonged to the Tarnów Voivodeship .
