The Kieselbach is a left tributary of the Lichte in the Thuringian Slate Mountains . It has its source at Ernstthal am Rennsteig train station in the immediate vicinity of the Rennsteig on the watershed between Thuringia and Franconia .

course

On its run to the northeast, it follows the valley floor of the Finsteren Grund and is crossed by the Finsterer Grund railway viaduct of the disused Probstzella – Lichte – Ernsttal railway on the Rennsteig. In Waschdorf he unites with the little light. Now both bodies of water follow the Lichtetal as light and flow through the districts of Wallendorf and Geiersthal . In its further course, the Lichte feeds the Leibis-Lichte dam with its Deesbach dam and finally flows into the Schwarza in Unterweißbach .
