List of places inhabited by Chechens in Turkey
The list of places inhabited by Chechens in Turkey lists all 24 villages and small towns in the Republic of Turkey where Chechens live in significant numbers. The Chechens came to the Ottoman Empire as refugees after the Caucasus War 1817–1864 and the Russo-Turkish War 1877–1878 . The Chechens were settled in various places in the Ottoman Empire. Some of the Chechens founded localities that are now in the Republic of Turkey. The descendants of these Chechen refugees still live in these places today. This list also offers a selection of the names of the localities commonly used by Chechens. The Chechens in major Turkish cities are not included in this list.
