history

Beginnings until the 18th century

Kiesenberg (also: Chursinperch, Khürschenberg, Kürschenberg, Kirschenberg) was mentioned in writing in 1140 in a document in which Lukardis de Mura left his estate in Kiesenberg to the Reichenbach monastery . In 1522 and 1572 Kiesenberg belonged to the office of Neunburg vorm Wald and had 6 teams. In the visitation protocol of 1582, Kiesenberg was listed as part of the Dieterskirchen parish . In 1661 Kiesenberg belonged to the inner office of Neunburg with three farms, one estate, 27 cattle, 8 pigs, two sheep and a goat.

In 1762 there were 4 properties in Kiesenberg, a side house, a hut, 8 hearths, 4 owners and 4 residents (including a day worker, a guardian) that are 8 subjects. At the end of the 18th century, Kiesenberg had 5 properties, including a community of Hüthaus.

19th century

At the beginning of the 19th century the state tried to simplify the administrative structure and - against the tenacious resistance of the owners - to transfer jurisdiction to the state. This process took place in several steps. Through secularization and mediatization , the fragmented territorial state structures and the differentiated structure of judicial and landlord assignments were eliminated and attempts were made to gradually reduce the rights of the landlord. There were older order Landgerichte formed.

According to an ordinance of 1808, the district court of Neunburg vorm Wald was divided into 55 tax districts. Weislitz formed a tax district with the villages of Kiesenberg (5 properties), Neudeck (6 properties), Weislitz (5 properties) and Zengeröd (9 properties).

In 1809 Kiesenberg had 43 residents.

In 1820 rural communities were formed. This created the rural community of Weislitz, which consisted of the villages of Weislitz with 6 families, Kiesenberg with 5 families, Zengeröd with 9 families and the wasteland Holzhof with one family.

20th century to the present

On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Kiesenberg was listed as part of the Kulz branch of the Dieterskirchen parish with 8 houses and 58 residents. When the community of Weislitz was dissolved in 1946, Kiesenberg and Neudeck became part of the community of Kulz. In 1964 Kulz was an independent community with the towns of Kulz, Kiesenberg, Krähhof, Neudeck and Ziegelhütte. In 1978, Kiesenberg was incorporated into the municipality of Thanstein as part of the municipality of Kulz. On December 31, 1990, Kiesenberg had 35 inhabitants and belonged to the Kulz branch of the Dieterskirchen parish.
