Kilian Ponheimer , called Kilian Ponheimer the Younger (born November 12, 1788 in Vienna ; died July 26, 1829 there ), was an Austrian painter and engraver .

Life

Kilian Ponheimer was the son of Kilian Ponheimer . From 1803 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts . His teachers were Vinzenz Georg Kininger in drawing and the art of scraping , the academy director Jacob Matthias Schmutzer in etching and Hubert Maurer in painting . Kilian Ponheimer's work includes miniature painting , mezzotint and engraving . His best works include a portrait of the Academy Director Martin Fischer based on a model by Hubert Maurer and a portrait of Hans Holbein the Younger by Sigmund von Perger, engraved by Kilian Ponheimer. Another engraving, Heem's Flower Altar , was made by him.
