Kim Hyun-joong (born June 6, 1986 in Seoul ) is a South Korean pop musician and lead singer of the boy band SS501 .

biography

Kim Hyun-joong played bass guitar in a band during his school days . When he decided to become a singer, he dropped out of school. In 2001 and 2002 he worked as a waiter in his family's restaurant. At that time, he became the youngest member of a five-piece boy band, which broke up before their debut. He then became a member and lead singer of SS501 and released their debut album Warning with them in 2005 . In 2006, Kim finished school.

In 2011, Kim wrote to the Chungwoon University in order Stage Production Management study. In February 2012 he went to Kongju Communication Arts University (KCAU) to study applied music .

On October 11, 2011, his second mini album Lucky reached number 5 on the Billboard World Albums chart. In July 2012, Kim Hyun-joong released the single Heat . The song was sold over 200,000 times in Japan. In February 2013 Kim Hyun-joong gave his first South America concert in São Paulo .
