The Kirchbachspitze or the Kirchbachspitz is a 3053  m slm high mountain peak in the Texel Group , a part of the Ötztal Alps in the Italian province of South Tyrol . The survey is protected in the Texel Group Nature Park . In maps and guide books, the summit is often mixed up with the Kirchbachkreuz ( 2950  m , 46 ° 41 ′  N , 11 ° 0 ′  E ) to the south-west , which is more important for tourism because of the marked trails and its large summit cross.

Location and surroundings

The southern flank of the Kirchbachspitze dominates the Naturnser Sonnenberg , but the summit itself is not very prominent. Basically, it is just a prominent point in the terrain that is dominated by the 3175  m high Gfallwand in the north, only 500 m as the crow flies , and the 3081  m high Lahnbachspitze in the east , with almost no notch . The Kirchbachspitze is connected to these peaks, which slope northeast into the target valley , via ridges. Another ridge loosens from the summit in a south-westerly direction to the 2950  m high Kirchbachkreuz and on to the Kleiner Jöchl , where it slowly drops over the Sonnenberg into the front Val Senales . The ridges, together with the Kirchbachspitze, also form the boundary of the communities Naturns (in the south), Partschins (in the east) and Schnals (in the west).

Climbs

The Kirchbachspitze can be climbed in several ways, but they always have to be overcome at least 1340 meters in altitude and therefore a good level of fitness is required. The most important career opportunities are described below:

The shortest and easiest ascent begins at the Dickhof , which is located on the eastern slope of the Schnalstal, and first leads through the forest to the Dickalm and Moaralm . Now follow path no. 10A over Almböden to the scree fields Im Gfall , where the path becomes steeper and steeper and leads to the Kirchbachkreuz . From here you can walk to the summit via an unmarked path over a slightly exposed ridge.

Experienced people can also climb from the Schnatzhof via the marked path no. 6 to the Kirchbachkreuz or from Giggelberg first cross the Lahnbachspitze and Zielspitze and only then go to the summit of the Kirchbachspitze.
