Fischersdorf Church

The Evangelical Lutheran Church Fischersdorf is located in Fischersdorf , a district of the Kaulsdorf community in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . The parish Breternitz fishing village belongs to the parish area Kaulsdorf-Hohenwarte in Kirchenkreis Rudolstadt-Saalfeld the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

description

The first church was originally a chapel , which was served by the monks of the Leutenberg Monastery. After a fire in 1833 the previous church was torn down and in 1835 a hall church made of rubble stones with a retracted choir tower was built on the old foundation walls "7 cubits higher" . In the tower area there are remains of the late Gothic previous building, such as the sacrament house on the north side behind the altar . The church building is enclosed by a circular wall. The nave is covered with a slate- thatched half - hip roof. The interior has a flat ceiling . The galleries are two-story. The choir tower is covered with a lantern- topped dome , both slated.

The organ with 7 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built around 1900 by an unknown organ builder . The church was renovated in 1899, 1930 and 1980 .
