The Evangelical Lutheran Church Lositz is located in Lositz-Jehmichen , which belongs to the Saalfelder Höhe district of the city of Saalfeld / Saale in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . history

The first church on site was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . It was rebuilt in 1650. The current church was built after the previous building was demolished in 1796.

description

The hall church , which contains parts of the previous building, has a retracted choir in the northeast, above which the eight-sided roof tower with its bulbous dome and open lantern rises. The nave and the choir are each covered with a mansard roof. The interior has two-storey galleries and is covered with a flat ceiling. The choir has a barrel vault . The church furnishings include a pulpit altar from the 18th century. The organ with 8 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built in 1844 by Johann Friedrich Georgi.
