history

Lositz was first mentioned in 1410 and Jehmichen in 1414 and archived in documents. Today's church was built after the previous building was demolished in 1796. The literature provides information about the past political conditions in this area. In addition to the limited possible agricultural use of the areas, guest and tourist care was important for the population in this area. Now people are offering holiday apartments, horse riding and caring for the guests.

From 1991 to 1996 the place belonged to the administrative community Saalfelder Höhe . With the conversion of this into the unified municipality of Saalfelder Höhe , Lositz-Jehmichen became a district of this. This was incorporated into Saalfeld / Saale on July 6, 2018.
