Birkenheide is a hamlet in the town of Saalfeld / Saale in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

geography

Districts of the city of Saalfeld / Saale lie on a high plateau of the Thuringian Slate Mountains : the hamlet of Birkenheide in the southeast , the northern hamlet of Braunsdorf and the central town of Dittrichshütte . The districts located at the top are connected to the district road 177, which leads to the federal roads 281 and 85 in Saalfeld . The plateau is developed with agricultural land and around the district , the forest closes in.

history

Birkenheide was first mentioned in 1330-1340. 71 inhabitants settle the hamlet. Agriculture and forestry also took the East German route after the Second World War and until today.
