The church was built from limestone and consists of a two-aisled nave , a narrower, just closed choir in the east, a church tower in the west and a sacristy on the north side of the choir. The Romanesque tower is the oldest, while the nave and choir were built around the middle of the 13th century. The sacristy dates from the 1850s. The church has white plastered facades and ogival windows. The nave and the lower choir are covered with gable roofs. As a result of a collapse, according to information in 1534, the tower got its characteristic mangled appearance. It is crowned by a striking octagonal spire. Of the two south portals, that of the choir is of particular interest because of its runic inscription according to which Lafrans Botvidarson from Eskelhem built the church. The interior of the nave is covered with six tent vaults. The two central columns have decorated capitals and bases, similar to the decor of the choir portal. A pointed triumphal arch leads into the choir, which is crowned by a tent vault and illuminated by a group of three windows in the east wall. The gallery , which was built in 1704 and decorated with images of the apostles, was moved from the west gable to the north side in the 1950s. The church was restored in 1926 according to plans by the architect Anders Roland.
