kkStB 389
The steam locomotive series kkStB 389 were locomotives of the kkStB , which originally came from the ÖNWB .
In order to build the ÖNWB station in Vienna , a large amount of bulk material had to be brought in. For this purpose, four small tank locomotives of type Bt were procured from Sigl in Vienna . They had outer frames, Hall cranks and sagging fire boxes. After the construction work was finished, the ÖNWB had no use for the small machines. They were briefly used in shunting and finally converted into B1t in 1876 . They were then used between Vienna and Stockerau until 1890 . In 1888 they received new boilers.
At the ÖNWB they initially had the numbers 1–4 (later 481–484 ) and formed the number VIII . The 482 and 484 were eliminated in 1909 . After the nationalization, the kkStB classified the remaining two machines as series 389 . They were removed from the inventory in 1912 and 1915 .
