After Friedrich's death on November 9, 1356, the city adopted his daughter Klara as mistress of Freiburg on December 29, according to the addition to the old constitutional charter, “that if a gentleman of Freiburg dies and leaves no son, the citizens have the oldest daughter to take as wife (mistress) ”. As early as November 28, Bishop Johann von Straßburg had transferred the imperial fiefs to her father's half-brother, Egino , in the name and on behalf of Charles IV , and took him under oath and duty. Egino appealed to the imperial court against the city's decision in favor of Klaras . In an initial subpoena, the city relied on her freedom before a foreign court and Egino's lawsuit was dismissed. Following renewed objections Eginos respect of succession put the Hofgericht him, however, in 1358 as a legacy, and the city of Freiburg came because of their resistance to the eight .

Egen receives the rule of honest purchase with forts, people, goods and all rights for 3820 marks silver - of which the city pays 1,320 marks. ”Since her uncle could not pay the sum, Klara initially retained the use of the Lichteneck rule ( Lichteneck Castle , Hecklingen and Forchheim ), which then became the property of Clara in its entirety in 1368 after Egino renounced the redemption of the pledge. Shortly after the agreement of June 1358, Clare asked the city of Freiburg to pay homage to her uncle . On June 20, 1358, the homage and in return the confirmation of the rights of the city by Egino.
