Klaus-Dirk Henke
Klaus-Dirk Henke (born September 17, 1942 in Hanover ) is a German university professor for economics , member of the scientific advisory board at the Federal Ministry of Finance and Economics. He mainly works in the fields of health economics , social security systems , European integration and public finance .
Life
education
Klaus-Dirk Henke grew up in Hanover as the youngest of three siblings and graduated from high school there in 1963. From 1963 to 1970 he studied economics and social sciences at the University of Cologne , the London School of Economics and Political Science , London , and the University of Michigan , Ann Arbor , USA. In 1970 he received his doctorate from the University of Cologne. rer. pole. PhD. There he worked as a research assistant until 1971. From 1971 to 1976 he was a research assistant and university lecturer at the Philipps University of Marburg , where he completed his habilitation in 1976 on the subject of “Public Health Expenditures and Distribution” and received the Venia Legendi for economics. During his habilitation, he first went to the Brookings Institution , Washington, DC , USA for a research stay from 1972 to 1974 (further research stays there followed in 1979, 1984 and 1990).
Career history
In 1976, Henke took up a position as a full professor of economics, particularly finance, at the University of Hanover , which he held until 1995. At the same time, Klaus-Dirk Henke supervised the subject of health economics in the postgraduate course "Public Health" , headed by Friedrich Wilhelm Schwartz , at the Hanover Medical School . From 1995 until his retirement in 2011, Henke held the chair for public finance and health economics at the Institute for Economics and Business Law at the Technical University of Berlin . He continues to work there as a university professor until September 2017.
Henke has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board at the Federal Ministry of Finance since 1984 . From 1987 to 1998 he was a member and from 1993 to 1998 chairman of the Advisory Council for Concerted Action in Health Care . From 1996 to 2004, Henke was Director at the European Center for Political Science and State Practice in Berlin.
In 1986 Henke was a visiting professor at the Vienna University of Technology . In 1989 he was visiting scholar at the University of Bristol , England, and in 2002 at the University of York , England.
Klaus-Dirk Henke lives with his wife Jutta in Berlin and has four grown children.
