Life

Klaus Dannegger grew up in what was then the GDR after the Second World War . After graduating from high school , he had to work “in production” for a compulsory year because of alleged “tendencies towards the western way of life”. He then first trained as an electrician and then did a distance learning course at the University of Economics in East Berlin . He then worked as an IT organizer and project manager.

Dannegger also worked as a writer for amateur and professional cabarets . In 1977 he was the winner of a cabaret authors' competition by the Ministry of Culture , and in 1978 he was awarded the medal for services to the artistic people of the GDR . In 1981 he switched to the Leipziger Pfeffermühle cabaret in Leipzig , where he worked as a dramaturge and author. From 1981 to 1984 he did (another) distance learning at the literature institute "Johannes R. Becher" in Leipzig. In 1993 he was managing director of the cabaret "Leipziger Pfeffermühle" GmbH .

Dannegger has been working as a freelance author since 1994. He mainly writes texts for cabaret and cabaret programs as well as for comedic and cabaret theater roles, including for the Berlin folk actor Jürgen Hilbrecht and for the cabarets Die Kneifzange in Berlin (including Vera Müller ), Brett'l-Keller in Wittenberg and Fettnäppchen in Gera and especially for his previous place of work as a cabaret artist, the Leipziger Pfeffermühle cabaret .
