Klaus Dede

Klaus Dede (born June 1, 1935 in Nordenham ; † May 5, 2018 in Oldenburg ) was a German journalist and writer .

Life

Klaus Dede was born in the Blexen district of Nordenham. His main areas of work were the regional history of the Lower Weser region, the temperance and abstinence movement and the ideology of German nationalism . Dede mainly worked as a local editor, especially in Papenburg , Gütersloh and Nordenham. Since 1975 he has lived as a freelance writer in Oldenburg .

In 1982 he set up a memorial corridor in Oldenburg to commemorate the November pogroms of 1938 on November 10th . On this occasion, Oldenburg citizens still follow the exact route that the Jews from Oldenburg were driven through the city in 1938 from the police barracks where they had to spend the night to the regional court prison , from where they were brought to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp .
