Klaus Reichert (neurologist)

Klaus Reichert (born September 28, 1948 in Karlsruhe , † April 22, 2005 in Bad Herrenalb ) was a German neurologist and medical philosopher .

Life

Klaus Reichert began his studies in 1967 with a semester of psychology at the Mannheim Business School . From 1968 to 1970 he studied medicine at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg and from 1970 to 1973 at the University Hospital Essen . Following the state examination in 1974, he worked as a medical assistant in the municipal hospital of Heinsberg / Rhineland. Reichert was founded in 1975 with a dissertation on the subject of a radiological method for quantitative bone densitometry in clinical practice. PhD in bone density in cancer patients .

Reichert finished his military service from 1975 to 1976 as a medical officer . He then worked in the fields of neurology and psychiatry from 1976 to 1981 as an assistant doctor in Gangelt and Karlsruhe, and from 1981 to 1986 as a senior physician at the Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital. From 1987 to 2005, Klaus Reichert was the chief physician of the neurological department at the Dobel Forest Clinic .

Since 1991 he has published the series of publications, aspects of neurological rehabilitation , which was self-published by the Waldklinik Dobel. On this basis, Klaus Reichert and the philosopher Christian Hoffstadt founded the series Aspects of Medical Philosophy in 2002 , which is being continued posthumously by a collective of editors.

Klaus Reichert Prize for Medical Philosophy

In memory of Klaus Reichert as the founder of the book and event series Aspects of Medical Philosophy and for the promotion of scientific work in the interdisciplinary field of medical philosophy, the Klaus Reichert Prize for Medical Philosophy was awarded between 2009 and 2013.
