Klaus Rudek (born July 14, 1928 in Hindenburg , Upper Silesia , † April 6, 2016 in Bremen ) was a German director of studies , journalist and author . He lived in Bremen and between 1982 and 2006 he lived in Santiago de Chile .

biography

Bremen

In 1956 Rudek fled the GDR to Bremen and was recognized as a political refugee. As director of studies , Rudek was in charge of the grammar school on Vorkampsweg in Horn-Lehe . In the following years he was a member of the state board of the Philologists Association , Deputy Chairman of the Association of Bremen School Leaders at Grammar Schools, Chairman of the Examination Committee for the second teacher examination (second state examination in education ) and a member of the board of the working group for student responsibility at the federal level.

German School Santiago de Chile

From 1982 to 1993, Rudek was director of the German School Santiago in Chile, mediated by the Federal Republic . He was also the first rector to head the Instituto Superior Aleman de Comercio ( INSALCO , German Higher Business School), also based in Santiago de Chile . At the end of the 1980s he founded the German Teacher Training Institute Wilhelm von Humboldt in Santiago de Chile , which he headed as honorary rector until 1992. He was also the spokesman for the directors' conference of the German schools in Chile until 1992. In 1990 he was elected general secretary of the umbrella association of German meeting schools in Latin America.

Honors

  • Rudek was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon in 1992 for his success in German-Chilean educational work.
  • In 1992 he was awarded the Order of Bernardo O'Higgins in the degree of Comendador by the President of the Republic of Chile Patricio Aylwin .
  • Lions International recognized Ruek's social work in Chile by awarding him the title of Goodwill Ambassador .
  • Since 1992 he has been the permanent representative of the German-Chilean Federation (DCB) in Germany.
