The passenger ship was built in 2006 by Behrens Schiffs- und Schweißtechnik in Hamburg-Finkenwerder . It was christened Klein Erna on April 6, 2006 . The godmother was Katja Borchers, an employee of the shipping company. Klein Erna is the main character of the well-known Hamburg Klein-Erna jokes.
The Klein Erna is a long and flat ship that was designed for bridge-accessible travel in the port of Hamburg. With a length of 34.87 meters, a width of 6.67 meters and a draft of 1.15 meters, the ship offers a total of 220 passengers. The control station is located in the bow and behind it is a bar . There is a patio in the stern , which also provides access to the ship. A cloakroom and sanitary facilities are located in front of it . The passenger compartment is roofed with colored glass . The rear part of the roof can be moved so that the ship can be driven half open. The passenger compartment, which is equipped with air conditioning , has a tiled floor with underfloor heating underneath and can be seated individually. The Klein Erna is equipped with a marine diesel engine with an output of 190 kilowatts. The motor drives a pod drive with a propeller with five blades on.
