coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on March 29, 1999 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.
Blazon : "In gold a black-haired woman dressed in blue with a silver apron, blue headgear and black shoes, in her right hand holding a black key with the beard up to the right with an oval lock, in her left a blue shuttle."
The coat of arms is based on an old seal from 1618, in which a woman was depicted standing on two mountains. The woman represents a linen weaver, which is also indicated by the shuttle, as this trade, along with agriculture, was dominant in the village from the end of the 16th century to the 19th century. The bowl is interpreted as an attribute of Saint Martha, the patroness of housewives, with which their dignity is to be symbolized. In 1610 the place came to the Principality of Anhalt-Bernburg through the secularization of the Gernrode monastery, which is why the seal can only have been awarded by the princes of this house. Although this is no longer verifiable because wars destroyed the documents, the seal was in use from 1618 to around 1950, which is considered evidence of this. For design reasons, the two mountains were omitted from the coat of arms and the shield was kept in gold.
The colors of the community are blue-gold (yellow).
flag
The flag is striped blue and yellow (cross flag; stripes from left to right, hoisting flag: stripes running from top to bottom) with the municipality's coat of arms placed in the middle.
