The Kleiner Maurerkeeskopf ( 3205 m above sea level ) is a mountain peak of the Tauern main ridge in the Venediger Group on the border between Tyrol ( Lienz district ) and Salzburg ( Zell am See district ) or on the municipal border between Prägraten am Großvenediger and Neukirchen am Großvenediger . The mountain was originally named Östlicher Maurerkeeskopf by Theodor Harpprecht .
location
The Kleine Maurerkeeskopf is a rock head between the Hinterer Maurerkeeskopf ( 3311 m above sea level ) in the west and the Geigerkopf ( 3174 m above sea level ) in the east. The Kleine Maurerkeeskopf is separated from the Hinteren Maurerkeeskopf by the Maurertörl ( 3,104 m above sea level ) and from the Geigerkopf by the Breiten Sattel ( 3,107 m above sea level ). South of the Kleiner Maurerkeeskopf is the Maurerkees, from which the Maurerbach rises, to the north is the Obersulzbachkees and the nearby Krimmlertörlkees.
Promotion opportunities
The normal route to the Kleine Maurerkeeskopf leads from the Essener-Rostocker Hütte first on a marked path along the Maurerbach in the direction of the Maurertörl. The further ascent takes place last at the Maurerkees into the Maurertörl and then over the southwest ridge to the summit ( I, one point II- ). Possible variants are the descent from Maurertörl over firn and rock to the foot of the south ridge and over this to the summit ( II ) or from the Kürsingerhütte over the Nordsporn ( II ).
