The Kürsingerhütte is a refuge of the Salzburg section of the Austrian Alpine Club . It lies at an altitude of 2558 m above sea level. A. north of the Großvenediger in the state of Salzburg in Austria . In addition to the Neue Prager Hütte and the Defreggerhaus , it is the third starting point for tours on the Großvenediger. The hut is located in the core area of the Hohe Tauern National Park .
history
The first refuge was built in 1842 a few meters from its current position. In 1875 a second hut was built in the same place, named after Ignaz von Kürsinger , the keeper of Mittersill , a main organizer and member of the group of the first climbers of the Großvenediger .
In 1885/86, today's northeast wing of the building was built. Additional buildings were added between 1886 and 1938. The largest renovation and reconstruction measures ( material ropeway , water and power supply) took place between 1977 and 1983 and gave the hut with its now six gables its distinctive appearance.
