history

The village, first mentioned in a document in 1594, emerged as a settlement for woodcutters and miners. Its residents were exempted from compulsory labor to the rule of Groß Ullersdorf and supplied wood and iron ore to the Zöptau ironworks. Andreas Trescher has come down to us as Kleppel's first free judge. After the Wiesenberg rule was separated, Kleppel became subordinate to it. In 1677 Kleppel consisted of 35 properties. The owners of the place were the lords of Zierotin and from 1770 the monastery Velehrad . In 1783, the church was built with the support of the monastery, which left the timber. In 1791 a mill was built. In 1834 Kleppel consisted of 59 houses and had 407 inhabitants. Between 1839 and 1842, the Kaiserstraße from Mährisch Schönberg to Römerstadt, running over the Fichtlingsattel, was built and the "Zum Berggeist" stretch was created on the saddle.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Kleppel / Klepl from 1850, a municipality in the district Šumperk and judicial district Wiesenberg. The current name Klepáčov was created in 1872 as a Czech derivation from the German name Kleppel . In 1881 a meteorological station was set up in Kleppel. In 1890 351 people lived in 70 houses in Kleppel. In 1896 the Mährisch Schönberg section of the Moravian-Silesian Sudeten Mountains Association acquired the "Berggeist" located at the southern end of the Altvater main ridge and expanded it into a tourist station as part of the tourist development of the mountains. Around 1900 there were plans to build a rack railway over the saddle. The project, which was costly due to the construction of three tunnels, was dropped in 1921 after the advent of automobile traffic. Instead, the company Gebr. Klein from Zöptau expanded the old Kaiserstraße for car traffic in a five-year construction period. The population decline that began in the middle of the 19th century continued and in 1930 there were only 256 people living in the 60 houses in the village.

After the Munich Agreement , the municipality was annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Mährisch Schönberg district until 1945 . In 1939 Kleppel had 213 inhabitants. In May 1945 the "Berggeist" burned down when the Red Army marched in. After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled .

In 1950 Klepáčov, which was incorporated into Rudoltice in 1949 , only had 38 houses and the place had 54 inhabitants. Subsequently, numerous residential buildings were demolished and recreational properties were built in their place. At the beginning of 1961 Klepáčov was incorporated into Sobotin together with Rudoltice. In 1966, the reconstruction of the Baude Skřítek ( mountain spirit ). In 1973 Česká pojišťovna built a hotel complex consisting of four buildings next to the church. The state insurance company also acquired the dilapidated wooden church and began restoring the monument in 1983 together with the Šumperk District Museum. In 1991 only one house was used for residential purposes and Klepáčov had three permanent residents. In 1999 the place consisted of two houses and 66 holiday homes. Klepáčov is now a holiday resort and winter sports center. In 2001 the village consisted of 2 houses in which 6 people lived.
