history

Castle courtyard (1921)

The upper valley of the Teß, which belongs to the rule of Groß Ullersdorf , was settled in the 13th century. Several ironworks were later built along the river. In 1608 the Lords of Zierotin had a castle built south of Reutenhau , which was named Wiesenberg. During the Thirty Years' War the area was devastated and the huts went out.

In 1767, the glassmaker Seewald founded a glassworks in Engelsthal, which started operations two years later. After the Welgrad Monastery had acquired the goods in 1770, it transferred the administration to Joachim Stettenhofen . In 1774 the palace was rebuilt in Baroque style. After the abolition of the Welegrad monastery, the chapel was elevated to a parish church. Between 1803 and 1815, the Annaberg glassmaking settlement was built below the Engelsthal glassworks on the left side of the Rauschende Teß (Hučivá Desná). In 1829 the glassworks was relocated from Engelsthal to Reitendorf . Anton Friedrich Mitrowsky von Mitrowitz became the owner of the Wiesenberg estate in 1833 . In 1842 he sold the goods in Wiesenberg and Zöptau to the industrialist Albert Klein , who, as Klein von Wisenberg , was raised to the baron status in 1872 .

After the abolition of patrimonial Wiesenberg / Vízmberk formed a municipality in the political district of Mährisch Schönberg from 1850 and became the seat of a judicial district. Eduard Oberleithner's mechanical flax spinning mill became the most important company in the area. The company presented itself successfully at the world exhibition in 1873 and Oberleithner was ennobled as a noble von Oberleithner in the same year . In 1897 the forest railway was laid from Winkelsdorf to the Schwarzen Leiten. In 1910 there were 2605 inhabitants in Wiesenberg. By 1930 the number of residents had fallen back to 2,154, 73 of whom were Czech.

After the Munich Agreement , the municipality was added to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Mährisch Schönberg district . In 1939 there were 2043 people in the community. After the Germans were expelled , the number of inhabitants fell to 1251 by 1950.
