history

The first written mention of Jacobi villa belonging to the Schildberg lordship and named after its locator took place in 1335. The owner of the village was Jaroslav von Sternberg at that time . Later the village became subject to the Hochstein lordship . The existence of a parish church has been documented since 1350. In 1434, Matthäus von Sternberg sold the rule to the brothers Daniel and Georg Tunkl von Brünnles. In 1509 Nikolaus Trčka von Lípa on Lichtenburg acquired the Hochstein rule from Heinrich Tunkl. Four years later, Ladislav von Boskowitz was registered as the owner in the country table. Subsequently, the village, consisting of twelve properties, was assigned to the Hohenstadt rule and added to the Eisenberg rule around 1516 . At the end of the 16th century Jakubowice had grown to 32 properties. In 1771 413 people lived in the village and in 1793 there were already 480. Around 1785 the village school started teaching.

After the abolition of patrimonial Jokelsdorf / Jakubovice formed a community in the Hohenstadt district from 1850. In 1890 the Jakubovice Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded. In 1930 the community had 539 inhabitants.

As a result of the Munich Agreement , the community was annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Hohenstadt district until 1945 . In 1939 Jokelsdorf had 554 inhabitants. During the period of occupation, many of the residents joined the resistance movement against the Nazis . In January 1944, several residents of the village were arrested and taken to concentration camps.

After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled . At the end of 1960 there were 251 people in the village. On January 1, 1961, the community came to Okres Šumperk . In 1976 it was incorporated into Písařov . By the beginning of 1990 the population fell to 171 and then increased again slightly. The Jakubovice municipality has existed again since the end of 1990.
