history

The place created in the course of the settlement of the forest area Bruselský les on the upper Doubravka was first mentioned in 1335 as Clopywa . The inhabitants of the village belonging to the Aussee lordship lived from agriculture. The logging settlement Weleborze to the north has also been traceable since 1437 . To the south of Klopina there was still the settlement of Střítěž, which merged with Klopina after the Thirty Years' War and today forms the lower part of the village. There were two ponds and a sheep farm in Střítěž. When the rule of Aussee was divided in 1457, Klopina came to Wenzel von Wlaschim's share. When Ladislaus von Boskowitz acquired the Aussee estate as hereditary property in 1513 , the villages of Klopina and Veleboř also belonged to it. The owner of Střítěž was Georg von Wlaschim und Aussee, who in 1517 joined the village - also hereditary - to his rule. In 1531 the Lords of Boskowitz bought Střítěž from Katharina von Wlaschim. In 1564 Klopina and Veleboř consisted of 14 properties, in Střítěž there were four. When Johann Schembera Černohorský von Boskowitz died in 1597, his son-in-law Karl von Liechtenstein inherited the rule. The area was deserted by the Thirty Years War. In the hoof register of 1677, 22 farms are shown for Klopina including Střítěž and four for Veleboř. In 1771 Klopina had 431 and Veleboř 134 inhabitants. Since 1776 Klopina had the privilege of inheritance jurisdiction.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Klopina / bashas and Veleboř / Weleborz 1850 their own political community in the district Zábřeh . At that time there were 345 people in Veleboř and 479 in Klopina, who mostly belonged to the Czech ethnic group. In 1930 the municipality of Klopina had 496 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 454.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was annexed to the German Reich and belonged to the district of Hohenstadt from 1939 to 1945 .

In 1961 Veleboř was incorporated and the municipality was also assigned to the Okres Šumperk.
