history
The village, first mentioned in a document in 1344 as a hut , was created as a settlement of mountain and hut people. Iron ore was mined in the vicinity of Hraběšice. The valley was settled in the 13th century, but it is believed that gold was soaped and iron was smelted here as early as the Celtic and Great Moravian times.
During the Thirty Years' War the valley was deserted and the hoof register of 1677 shows 25 properties for huts. In 1724 the ironworks ceased operations. Instead of the hammer mill, a sawmill and a water mill were built, and a bleaching plant was added later. After the end of the mining industry, the residents lived from spinning and house weaving. During this time the name of the village changed from Hütten / Hutě to Oskau / Oskava. In 1788 a pub was set up in the place.
After the abolition of patrimonial Oskau formed a municipality in the Litovel district from 1850 and from 1908 it belonged to the Šternberk district . In the 19th century, more bleaching plants and a linen weaving mill were established in the village. In 1930 there were 921 people in Oskau.
After the Munich Agreement , the municipality was annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Sternberg district until 1945 . In 1939 Oskau had 837 inhabitants. After the Second World War, the German residents were expelled . The textile companies and bleaching companies were nationalized and connected to the Moravolen state company. Most of them were later shut down.
In 1948 Nemrlov was attached to Oskava. At the beginning of 1961 Bedřichov, Mladoňov, Mostkov, Václavov and Třemešek were incorporated. At the same time, Oskava was assigned to the Okres Šumperk.
On March 1, 2003, Mladoňov was reassigned to Nový Malín
