In the north rises the Burdův vrch (489 m), northeast of the Zlatník (493 m) and the Háj (631 m), in the east the Zbová and west the Rozsocha (518 m).

Neighboring towns are Truska and Bartoňov in the north, Radomilov in the northeast, Bludov in the southeast, Chromeč and Vyšehoří in the south, Zborov in the southwest, Klášterec in the west and Olšany and Doubravice in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of Engelsdorf took place in 1371 in the will of Margrave Johann Heinrich , in which the latter attributed the rule of Bludov to his younger son Prokop . Engelsdorf became extinct in the 15th century, probably during the Hussite Wars or the Bohemian-Hungarian War. The Tunkl von Brníčko , who had acquired large areas in northern Moravia since the middle of the 15th century, had the village repopulated before 1492, giving it the name Bohutín . In 1500 Peter von Zierotin bought Bohutín and added it to his property in Chromeč . Around 1560, the Vladiken Fylčan von Hrabová owned Bohutín, Bartoňov and Radomilov. Jan Fylčan sold Bohutín in 1586 to Sigismund Bukuvky from Bukuvka on Chromeč. In 1658 the Bukuvky Chromeč and the associated villages sold to the owner of the Bludov estate, Maximilian von Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn . In the hoof register of 1677 there are 18 farms in Bohutín. In 1834 the village had grown to 78 houses and had 401 residents.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bohutín formed a political municipality in the Mährisch Schönberg district from 1850 . A school house was inaugurated in 1865. Most of the residents worked in the kk paper mill in neighboring Olleschau at that time . In 1873 the railway line from Sternberg to Grulich was inaugurated, Bohutín only received a train station in 1905. In 1900 the village had 400 inhabitants and consisted of 71 houses. In the 1920s, a quarry was added above the village on Zbová Mountain. In 1930 there were 494 exclusively Czech residents in Bohutín. Mining on copper ore began a little later.

After the Munich Agreement , the village was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Mährisch Schönberg district until 1945 . In 1939 Bohutin had 505 inhabitants. After the end of the Second World War, Bohutín came back to Czechoslovakia. Some families left the place and settled in the border areas .

In 1950 there were 415 people in the community. On January 2, 1962, a chamber blast in the quarry caused great damage in the village. In 1975 the quarry ceased operations. In 1991, 911 people lived in Bohutín, the place consisted of 129 houses. Since 2008 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. The largest company is the Olšany paper mill, which is partly located in the corridors of Bohutín.
