history

Bohuslavice was founded around 1250, probably at the instigation of Beneda von Dubicko, the court hunter of Margrave Ottokar II Přemysl . The village was first mentioned in a document in 1356 when it was divided into two parts. In the mid-15th century who acquired Tunkl of Brníčko the goods. They had their subjects build ponds and dams along the March from Zábřeh to Třeština . During times of war, the Marchtal was a transit area for the most varied of troops who plundered or devastated the village. During the Thirty Years War Bohuslavice was completely ruined by the Swedes and later repopulated. In 1771 338 people lived in the village. In 1814 the dam broke during a flood of the March, and Bohuslavice was flooded and was under water for 14 days. In the cholera epidemic of 1832, 50 residents died within two weeks. In the 19th century the old Tunklschen fish ponds were drained and the soil was used for agriculture.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bohuslavice / Bohuslawitz formed a community in the Hohenstadt district from 1850 . A school was built between 1863 and 1864. On August 18, 1875, a major fire destroyed 26 houses. As a result, a volunteer fire brigade was established in 1880. In 1883 the March flooded the place. In 1890 Bohuslavice had 587 inhabitants. In 1901 a power station was set up in the Háj mill. In 1913, renovation work was carried out to drain and irrigate the soil. In 1930 the village had 551 Czech residents. During the floods in September 1938 another dike broke and Bohuslavice became an island in a large lake.

After the Munich Agreement , the place was attached to the German Reich and until 1945 belonged to the Hohenstadt district . In 1939 there were 564 people in Bohuslawitz . At the end of 1960 the Okres Zábřeh was dissolved and the municipality was assigned to the Okres Šumperk. In July 1997, Bohuslavice was flooded again when the dams broke near Lesnice and on the road to Lukavice. Nine houses were destroyed by the floods.
