Kosov (German Kosse ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers west of Zábřeh and belongs to the Okres Šumperk .
geography
Kosov is located in the headwaters of the Kosovský potok, a small tributary of the Moravská Sázava , in the Hohenstädter Uplands .
Neighboring towns are Drozdov in the north, Pivonín in the northeast, Zábřeh and Nemile in the east, Lupěné and Hněvkov in the southeast, Hynčina in the south and Hoštejn in the southwest.
history
Kosov was first mentioned in a document in 1360. The village had been subservient to the Hoštejn castle since its foundation and belonged to the Hoštejn rule until the patrimonial rule was abolished in 1848. In 1810 the village school started teaching. The road from Hohenstadt to Hochstein was built between 1880 and 1888 . In 1888 the village had 571 inhabitants. After the Munich Agreement , Kosse became part of the German district of Hohenstadt until 1945 . In 1939 there were 515 people living in the village, compared to 285 in 1994.
